  To conduct a Regional landscape assessment of the current digital foundations of care homes in the area.
This work would identify for all care homes in the region details of (1) digital connectivity; (2) digital data collection and care planning and (3) data governance for sharing and processing. The resulting detailed picture / mapping will provide granular regional level insight and also contribute to informing routes to populating the Data Loch with resident level data. The landscape assessment will be conducted in conjunction with a current demonstration project into data ‘access’ and ‘readiness’ within Care Homes (The GEARED UP Project) and employ methods used successfully in our smaller scale groundwork to inform the Development of a Care Home Data Platform in Scotland (https://www.medrxiv.org/content/10.1101/2020.08.17.20176503v2). This proposal relates to key Scottish Government objectives within the Digital Approaches in Care Homes Action Plan (https://tec.scot/digital-approaches-in-care-homes/).
