Individual and contextual deprivation: Association with cancer outcomes and implications for cancer policy
This project will use data from the Longitudinal Study for England and Wales to investigate inequalities in survival after a cancer diagnosis. It will compare and contrast estimates for survival obtained when using areal measures of deprivation to those derived from individual level indicators. To our knowledge, this will be the first study of cancer survival that will have used measures of deprivation specific to individual circumstances.
