Novel portable aluminum-air battery: A green technology for sustainable power generation via circular economy approach
The main aim of this research is to produce a high performance portable cellulose-based aluminium-air battery. Based on this aim, several specific objectives are outlined as the following:
1. To process high purity cellulose nanofibrils from water hyacinth (aninvasive plant that are commonly seen in Malaysia) using various physical and chemical methods that will be optimised
2. To fabricate porous nano-cellulose electrolyte separators using the above material with other additives (final composition to be optimised)
3. To build up an aluminium air battery cell and integrate the porousnano-cellulose electrolyte separator into it
4. To investigate the effects of concentrations of solid alkaline electrolyte, discharge rates on the durability and performance of the cellulose based aluminium-air battery
5. To optimize the performance and durability of the cellulose based aluminium-air battery from the above investigation
