Personal health data manager
This SE/RSE Enterprise Fellowship aimed to commercialise intellectual property owned by Edinburgh Napier University related to e-Health data management into an end-user product. The project paved the way to the spin-off of Vitalmeda, whose first product synchronises data from Health & Fitness apps into a single cloud-based location. The project achieved the following outcomes:

- Production of a Business Plan, which was pitched to a number of investors
- Participation to Scottish Enterprise’s High-Growth Pipeline and the Road to Investment Programme
- Market research which identified current stage of the market and future development strategy
- Extensive training of the fellow, Dr Elias Ekonomou, in commercialisation, business administration and entrepreneurship
- Working prototype of the product
- Participation to the converge challenge 2012 and the elevator pitch competition
- Marketing in exhibitions and events

The project finished but the team (Dr Elias Ekonomou, Prof Bill Buchanan and Dr Lu Fan) is currently looking at further opportunities to continue working on the business concept.
