Recovering value from waste agricultural plastics from the Scottish vegetable and soft fruit industry.
The project aims to add value to agricultural plastic waste, by utilising pyrolysis (an emerging plastic conversion technology) to enable successful conversion to fuel, energy or platform chemicals. This will offer multiple benefits to the industry, as well as the wider Scottish economy, such as, resource efficiency, reduced CO2 emissions, additional revenue streams from new product sales, cost savings on waste disposal and increasing the economic incentive to recycle plastics.
This project was supported by Interface Food and Drink, (IFD) Legacy Competition.
