  a) trace the exchange of ideas and people between Scotland and India from mid-nineteenth to mid-twentieth century
(b) reaffirm the relevance of the work and ideas of Tagore and his circle
(c) provide a revisionist reappraisal of knowledge exchange during and after Tagore’s time in a post-colonial assessment of transnationalism
(d) document and interpret the significance and impact of the ‘meeting of minds’ from West and East across borders through a study of print records, newspaper archives, correspondences and literary sources
(e) create a blog detailing the progress of the collaborative research on the ScoTs website for a world-wide audience
