Watching Walkers
This EPSRC funded project arose from the Celebration of UK Engineering Excellence (Nov 2004) and resulted in the creation of a demonstration of infrared detection of people. The demonstration was aimed at children and motivating their interest in Science and Technology. They were challenged to walk their name - its harder than you think!. During the Edinburgh Science festival more than 5000 children walked their name with varying degrees of success. The same demonstration appeared on the EPSRC stand at the ITS World Congress held in London in October 2006.
