The University has partial scholarships for self-funding students from Sub-Saharan Africa.
About the scholarship
We have a limited number of partial scholarships worth £2,000 (GBP), available for self-funding students domiciled in Sub-Saharan Africa (see country eligibility below) starting a course at Edinburgh Napier in September 2025 and January 2026. The scholarship is tenable for one academic year.
Eligibility
To be eligible for this award, you must be:
- domiciled at the time of application in Sub-Saharan Africa, excluding Benin, Cameroon, Cote d’Ivoire, Ghana, Nigeria, Senegal and Togo. If you are applying from one of these countries, please refer to our West Africa Scholarship.
- self-funding your course
- meet the entry criteria for a Bachelors or eligible taught Masters course in September 2025 and January 2026
If you have discounted tuition fees from a partner university or are in receipt of another scholarship, you are not eligible for this scholarship.
Please Note – MRes programmes and the following Masters degrees are not eligible for this award:
- MBA (Business Leadership and Practice)
- MBA (Strategic Project Management)
- MSc Global Hospitality Management (extended)
- MSc Computing with Professional Placement
- MSc Pharmaceutical & Analytical Science
Application process
Scholarships are awarded automatically once you have paid your deposit payment towards your tuition fees. The number of scholarships is limited and they are offered on a first-come, first-served basis. Once you have paid your deposit, please email cas@napier.ac.uk to be considered.
Details for your visa
The scholarship amount will be shown on the Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) email that we issue for your Student Route Visa application.
