Sub-Saharan Africa Scholarship
The University has partial scholarships for self-funding students from Sub-Saharan Africa.

About the scholarship 

We have a limited number of partial scholarships worth £2,000 (GBP), available for self-funding students domiciled in Sub-Saharan Africa (see country eligibility below) starting a course at Edinburgh Napier in September 2024 or January 2025.

Eligibility

To be eligible for this award, you must be:

  • domiciled at the time of application in Sub-Saharan Africa, excluding Nigeria and Ghana. If you are applying from Nigeria or Ghana please refer to our West Africa Scholarship.
  • self-funding your course
  • meet the entry criteria for a bachelors or 1 year masters course in September 2024 or January 2025.

Two year Masters courses are not eligible for this scholarship. In addition, you are not eligible if you have discounted tuition fees from a partner university or are in receipt of another scholarship. 

Please note that scholarships are only eligible for the intake of your initial application.  Awarded scholarships are non-transferable and cannot be deferred to a later start date. Deferred applications are not eligible for the scholarship whether you paid your deposit before deferral or after

Application process 

Scholarships are awarded automatically once you have paid your £5500 deposit payment towards your tuition fees. The number of scholarships is limited and they are offered on a first-come, first-served basis. Once you have paid your deposit, please email cas@napier.ac.uk to be considered.

Details for your visa

The scholarship amount will be shown on the Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) email that we issue for your Student Route Visa application.
