Victoria Meoli, MSc Global Hospitality Management

"Edinburgh being the Festival City and a major hub for tourism and hospitality, I felt that it would be beneficial for my career to learn in that environment."

"I was looking for a program that covered various aspects of the hospitality industry rather than a program that only focused on one. I was also hoping to find a program that was geared towards working in international brands and companies. Fortunately, Edinburgh Napier had a program that met those requirements. Edinburgh being the Festival City and a major hub for tourism and hospitality, I felt that it would be beneficial for my career to learn in that environment.

"I found the coursework to be interesting and the lecturers to be very supportive."

I've found the coursework to be interesting and the lecturers to be very supportive. I've also very much enjoyed getting involved on campus and have been able to join a few student societies. Through these, I've been able to meet other students and make connections on campus. I've also been able to get involved in planning and attending multiple events, which has been a great experience.

Tips from our students

If you're thinking about joining Edinburgh Napier University, read advice from our international student ambassadors.

"I got a Ridacard for the bus when I first moved here and am so happy I did!"

I got a Ridacard for the bus when I first moved here and am so happy I did! They offer a student discount, which is actually a significant discount, so I feel like I'm saving money in the long run. Cost of living can be high but isn't as bad as I thought it would be. If you are smart when it comes to things like eating out, it can actually be a pretty affordable city to live in.

"My favourite thing about Scotland is definitely the landscape"

My favourite thing about Scotland is definitely the landscape. With its rolling hills, stunning lochs, and almost magical sites, Scotland is easily one of the most beautiful places on the planet. I've greatly enjoyed getting to explore some of the amazing scenery Scotland has to offer, and hope to continue to do so throughout the remainder of my programme.

I absolutely love visiting the highlands. I've visited Inverness multiple times and love the city. On those trips, I've also taken advantage of the location to see other parts of the highlands, including the Isle of Skye, Culloden Moor, Eilean Donan Castle, the Clava Cairns, and more. It's very easy to get to Inverness from Edinburgh, either taking the train or the megabus. Once there, they have a bus system, bus tours to visit some of the well-known sites. It's also a very walkable city.
