Reshma from India talks about her life at Edinburgh Napier University.

Reshma Saifulla, Msc Transport Planning and Engineering

"The programme is taught in a very practical way, which is what the industry is looking for.”

I selected my course, MSc Transport Planning and Engineering, at Edinburgh Napier University mainly because of the course modules they offer. They are also linked with the Transport Research Institute (TRI), which had more scope for research that I was personally interested in.

The programme is taught in very practical way, which is what the industry is looking for. In addition, the assessments are based on how practically we apply our knowledge, react to the situation and solve the problem, rather than just a memory-based test.  As I have only completed the 1st trimester I am looking forward to learning more throughout the course.

"Students offered friendly support and guidance whenever I needed it."

I did not face any issues throughout the application process because there were people from the university to assist me at each stage -  not only the university staff, but also students offered friendly support and guidance whenever I needed it. I have had an amazing experience so far here in Edinburgh.

Tips from our students

If you're thinking about joining Edinburgh Napier University, read advice from our international student ambassadors.

“Edinburgh is one of the coolest cities I have ever been to”

Edinburgh is one of the coolest cities I have ever been to. The landscape & architecture astonished me - it has both vintage and modernized buildings. Edinburgh Castle has its own excellence. St Margaret’s Chapel within the castle compound is Edinburgh’s earliest surviving building. I am from the Mediterranean region which is hot in most of the months of the year. I like the weather here in Edinburgh - it is soothing, cool and calm. Finally, the people here are so kind, friendly and helpful. The list goes on and I am still exploring and enjoying the utmost beauty of the city!

“I would strongly recommend the university"

As an international student myself I would strongly recommend the university, city and the livelihood here. It is difficult for every student before starting their journey, however, it is not something that we need to be scared of. It is a wonderful opportunity to experience and life as a student in another country. At any point the university are there to support you. It is an incredible experience studying abroad!
