Who is this course for?

Aimed at teachers of biology or physics who require chemistry credits to become dual qualified to teach chemistry and/or those wishing to do a PGDE in chemistry but lacking sufficient chemistry credits.

Why choose this course?

The content and assessment is designed to be applicable to teaching chemistry at secondary school level. This course equips existing biology and physics teachers to gain chemistry credits with the aim of becoming dual qualified to also teach chemistry.

Learning Outcomes

By the end of this module you will be able to:

  • develop your chemistry subject knowledge while also reflecting on the impact that this will have on you as a chemistry teacher.

Completion of this course will gain credits towards the 80 subject-specific credits required by the GTCS to teach chemistry.

How you will be taught

Online learning with regular online drop in sessions with the course tutor. 

Course assessment will consist of an online submission of a piece of reflecting writing which should display the knowledge development from the module.
