In this online course, you will attend professional learning sessions to develop your pedagogical content knowledge of physics and physics knowledge for teaching.

This online course provides an opportunity to come together with other physics teachers to focus on subject-specific pedagogies.

The course will have with six 1-hour online sessions. 

The course will be focused on developing subject-specific pedagogical knowledge. Sessions can be flexible and might include topics such as cognitive load theory; effective questioning; effective feedback; effective use of practical work; physics specific literacy and physics specific numeracy.

A Certificate of Completion will be awarded to those who successfully complete the short course.

Entry requirements

This course is aimed at Physics teachers at all stages of their career.

Start date

The course will run from 24 September 2024 - 31st May 2025.

How you'll be taught

There will be a small amount of pre-reading before each session. When we meet, we will discuss the reading, share key take-aways and form ideas about how it might inform our practice.
