Course Overview

This online course is ideal for registered nurses working in any health care setting who wish to develop their knowledge and skills in relation to patient assessment, clinical judgement and decision making. It will focus on understanding the assessment findings in relation to the underlying condition, and facilitate effective decision making.

The course will help you apply advanced clinical assessment skills to identify patient needs; apply clinical reasoning in assessment and management of care; and apply evidence-based practice to inform care interventions.

Specifics covered include: 

  1. Cardiovascular system examination
  2. Respiratory system examination
  3. Gastro-intestinal and Genito-urinary system examination
  4. Neurological examination
  5. Interpretation of examination findings & investigative results
  6. Understand and implement clinical guidelines

Dates

The course will be delivered online and is self directed so you can work at your own pace to complete this course (approx 20 hours of learning)  that will focus on understanding the assessment findings in relation to the underlying condition, and facilitate effective decision making.
