Working with schools

At school and wondering whether university is for you? University can open up lots of doors to your future. We believe that anyone who wants to come to university, and has the potential to succeed, should be able to.

Edinburgh Napier University offers excellent support - our team is here to make sure you succeed and to help support you along the way. Our courses are developed alongside businesses to make sure you're ready for the workplace when you graduate.

Visit us

You can drop us an email and arrange to come in for an informal visit and chat to some of our current students to see if you think university may be for you.

Or you can ask your school to get in touch with us and we can arrange for your class to come in to do a workshop and meet some of our students, who were sitting just where you are a few years ago.  Some of them could not imagine being at university – but they’ve never looked back.

What our students say

"Don't be scared. Don't take the easy way out, because that's what I almost did and I would have regretted it."
- Charlotte Watt, Broughton UP participant and current BA Business Management student

There are different routes to university

Not everyone has the same route from school to university, and there are a lot of different options. The important part is that you think about what you'd like to do and make the right decision for you.

Are you a Teacher?

Edinburgh Napier works with secondary schools across the Central Belt of Scotland.  We are always willing to attend careers events and parents’ evenings, and provide a range of workshops to support your pupils to find a positive destination when they leave school.  Workshops can be delivered in your school, or we can arrange for you to bring a group along to experience one of our campuses.

At Edinburgh Napier University, we are also building partnerships with local schools to provide support specifically to targeted pupil groups who meet Widening Participation criteria.  This approach has shown real promise in narrowing the gaps in aspiration and attainment between WP pupils and their peers.
