These have been, and largely remain, uncertain times. The way our world will look over the next few months is not clear to any of us.
Recognising this uncertainty, we have been working hard to find the best way to offer you as much clarity and stability as we possibly can as we look forward to our next Academic Year in 2020/21.
Whether you are already part of our Edinburgh Napier community, or if you are hoping to join us for the first time in September, we want to help you understand our plans for your education and experience.
Each of our three campuses will be open for the next academic year, 2020/21. We will be offering a mixture of on-campus, in-class teaching alongside online learning. We will have services and facilities open to support this approach as much as possible.
At every step we will be sure to protect the health and wellbeing of our colleagues and students and we will follow all government advice: the safety of our students and colleagues will always remain our priority.
Our central message is simple. Our intention is that we will be physically open from this September and we will welcome you to Edinburgh.
You can expect the same high-quality teaching, learning resources and support that you have available to you now or that has encouraged you to apply, whether you are working on campus in specialist facilities, experiencing face-to-face learning where possible, or engaging in our virtual learning platforms.
Your learning will be active and collaborative, and we are working hard over the summer to produce engaging online approaches that will enable you to come together in social spaces to form friendships and peer groups. We are working with employers and our professional bodies to identify ways of providing you with work-related experience, whether in person or virtually.
We will still be offering a host of extra-curricular opportunities and are thinking creatively as to how these will work in a physically distanced manner. We are working to rethink how we approach the social aspect of university life, while keeping us all safe, and we will publish more information as soon as we can.
We do not claim to have all the answers yet, but we wanted to share with you our current intentions. We know you will be keen to understand what this means for you specifically. You may have questions on your course or perhaps what it means for your accommodation. Further details will be released as our plans take more shape.
