Applicant Visit Days are an excellent opportunity for you to find out more about your Undergraduate offer of study for English, English & Film or Communications, Advertising & Public Relations at Edinburgh Napier.
Applicant Visit Days are invitation-only events which give our offer holders the opportunity to meet staff and students, see the facilities we have to offer and find out more about their chosen course and opportunities beyond the classroom.
Throughout the day, you will be able to meet your lecturers, see the facilities and find out why we’re the top UK modern university for English (Guardian University Guide 2015).
Edinburgh was the first UNESCO City of Literature and with a literary tradition ranging from Walter Scott to Irvine Welsh, there’s an Edinburgh story for everyone. Your Edinburgh story will likely start at Waverley Station, which is believed to be the only station in the world named after a work of fiction!
There are plenty of opportunities to engage with Edinburgh’s literary past and present, be it at the Storytelling Centre, Writers Museum or the National Library of Scotland. As well as studying at the top UK modern university for English (Guardian 2015), students at Edinburgh Napier also have access to the university’s Robert Louis Stevenson collection and War Poets collection, enabling you to explore our connection to these literary greats. You will also have the opportunity to tell Edinburgh’s story through our collaborations with STV Edinburgh, Publishing Scotland and the Scottish Prisons Service; we have even developed Robert Louis Stevenson Day in partnership with Edinburgh UNESCO City of Literature trust, helping you to develop skills and experiences to start your career.
Please note that this event is for students who have received an offer to study on our English, English & Film in 2018 or 2019 or Communications, Advertising & Public Relations courses in 2018. Interviewing courses (Journalism, Music, Popular Music, Photography, Film, Acting & English, Design and Television) will not be represented, as successful applicants will have been invited to interview or audition.
During this day we will showcase our academic provision, show you round our campus and our student centred facilities giving you a true sense of what we offer.
We will notify those who have registered for the event when the programme is available to view online which will allow you time to prepare your visit.
Student Accommodation will not be available to view on the day as our current students will be preparing for Semester exams and assessments. However, we will have Accommodation staff on campus to discuss your new home this September!
Please note that your invitation to this event does not guarantee you a place on your chosen course and you must keep up to date with any decisions that are made regarding your application(s) via Track on the UCAS website.
