Amanda Wrathall

Photo of CHME Keynote Speaker, Amanda WrathallWith over 30 years’ experience in the hospitality and events industry, Amanda Wrathall has held the position of Sales and Marketing Director at the Edinburgh International Conference Centre since March 2015.  

The company’s vision is ‘To create an Environment which Inspires Ideas that change the world’ and Amanda heads up a team of fifteen people who help to realise this vision by attracting a diverse line-up of conferences and events to the venue. Amanda and the team are not only responsible for revenue generation for the EICC but also play a key role in delivering economic impact to the wider city through business events. Also included in Amanda’s remit is the EICC’s Sustainability Programme, Step Change. 

In addition to her core role, Amanda is an integral part of the EICC Leadership team, and is Chair of the Edinburgh Tourism Action Groups (ETAG) Business Events Sub Group. She is also a member of Edinburgh’s Operational Advisory Group which delivers actions agreed by the Strategic Implementation Group (SIG) – which was established to oversee the creation and implementation of the Edinburgh’s Tourism Recovery Plan and the 2030 Strategy. Through this recovery plan Amanda also directs the guardianship of the Convention Bureau function within the city. 

Amanda is a passionate and active member of Edinburgh’s destination community, which saw her complete the Destination Leaders Programme delivered by Edinburgh Napier University and Scottish Enterprise in 2016.
