Preparing students for the demands in service encounters: how an academic change of perspective could lead to improved graduate life for Hospitality Management students

Abstract

Graduate insights into the demands made on staff in service encounters will be presented to the conference. These will illuminate the staff perspective on the ‘Human Touch’ in Hospitality. Through this perspective the skills and knowledge requiring development in HE Hospitality Management will also be presented. This perspective will enable conference participants the opportunity to reflect on current gaps in their Hospitality Education provision and consider how to best support students into successful and gratifying graduate employment.
