Professor Kristeen Grant (Conference Chair)

headshotProfessor Kristeen Grant is a Professor of HRM within the People, Work and Organisations Group of Edinburgh Napier Universitys Business School. She is also an Associate Director of the Scottish Institute for Policing Research (SIPR) where she leads the Organisational Development Network. Kirsteens research investigates the lived experiences of employees working within professional, responsible and extreme contexts. Kirsteen has co-edited two books alongside several journal articles, book chapters and professional reports on a variety of work and employment issues, and between 2019-2021 she edited the Journal of Management Development. Kirsteen draws on complementary backgrounds in academia and organisational practice. She is a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD), and Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (HEA).

Professor Maura Sheehan (Programme Chair)

headshotProfessor Maura Sheehan is Professor of International HRM within the People, Work and Organisations Group of Edinburgh Napier Universitys Business School. Her research focuses on the relationships between labour market flexibility/precarity, firms training and development and organisational performance. Maura is among the worlds Top 2% of Scientists as identified in the Stanford/Elsevier global database and is included amongst the top 52 global HRD scholars. Maura has published in the worlds highest ranked peer reviewed journals (e.g., British Journal of Management, Human Resource Management Journal, International Journal of Human Resource Management) and has edited numerous books. She is Editor in Chief of the Journal of Organisational of Organisational Effectiveness: People and Performance (JOEPP) and is Associate Editor of the International Review of Applied Economics.

Dr Holly Patrick-Thomson

headshotDr Holly Patrick-Thomson is part of the People, Work and Organisations Group of Edinburgh Napier University’s Business School. Holly’s research focusses on the changing nature of work in the creative and craft sectors, particularly the tensions and precarity experienced by creative workers and the forms of solidarity this produces. She has published articles on these topics in international journals such as Work Employment and Society and Management Learning. She collaborates with creative businesses, campaign groups and industry bodies in the UK and is Chair of the British Academy of Management Special Interest Group for Creative and Cultural Industries.  

Dr Laura Gerard

headshotDr Laura Gerard is a member of the People, Work and Organisations Group at Edinburgh Napier University’s Business School. Laura is dedicated to integrating theory into practice holding academic associate membership with the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) and senior fellowship of AdvanceHE. Laura’s research interests lie within sustainable leadership, burnout, leadership development, employer branding, employee engagement, and organizational culture. She has actively contributed to the field through various publications and international conference presentations. Laura is the Chair and Academic Lead for the HRM Professional Advisory Group at Edinburgh Napier University; a collaborative network she founded to strengthen links between academic staff and industry leaders. Additionally, she currently serves as the Academic and Student Engagement Lead for the CIPD in Southeast Scotland Branch. 

Dr Dotun Ayeni

headshotDr Dotun Ayeni is a Lecturer within the People, Work and Organisations Group of Edinburgh Napier University's Business School. She came to academia after more than fifteen years in HR practice, having founded and led a human capital consultancy and built and directed people functions for organisations operating across the UK and Africa. Dotun's research examines the governance of work and employment relationships across formal and informal settings, with particular attention to domestic and household workers, including migrant domestic workers navigating global labour corridors, alongside personalised non-standard work arrangements (i-deals), talent management, decent work, and AI at work. She has published in Group & Organization Management, where she also serves on the Editorial Review Panel, and has presented at leading international conferences, including the Academy of Management, where her doctoral work received a best paper nomination. Dotun is the Principal Investigator on the Shades of Informality project - a multidisciplinary review of informal service work. She is a Chartered Member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD), a Full Member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management (CIPM) Nigeria, and a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (HEA). 

Dr Melina Doargajudhur

headshotDr Melina Doargajudhur is Associate Professor at Edinburgh Napier University’s Business School. Her interdisciplinary research spans human resource management, project management, digital transformation and management education, with a particular focus on the future of work, professional capability, digital transformation, artificial intelligence, and management education. Her work explores how organisations and higher education institutions develop organisational and professional capability, enhance employee well-being and performance, and prepare future professionals in increasingly digital and project-based environments. Melina has published in internationally recognised journals including Career Development International, Information Technology & People, Gender, Work & Organization, and the Journal of Management Development. She serves as Associate Editor of the Journal of Organizational Effectiveness: People and Performance and Technology Analysis & Strategic Management, has led and co-edited special issues for internationally recognised journals in management and organisational studies, and is a Senior Fellow of Advance HE (SFHEA).
