Enhancing Mobile Strategy Consultancy using a Conceptual Cognitive Model of Mobile Moments
Identifying mobile business interactions and optimizing associated usecases by understanding their human cognitive drivers is key for future mobile strategies across mobile workforces. An illustrative motivation is to find out the individual triggers for someone reaching for a mobile device and how these cognitive drivers can be used to enhance mobile workforce's performance by carefully designed usecases.A practice-oriented approach within mobile strategy consultancy targets the current lack of individuality in mobile scenarios. By using qualitative research techniques, subject matter experts provide their insights leading further understanding and creation of a comprehensive concept residing in areas of business, technology and psychology. As a result, the research outlines the underpinning facilitators of mobile business interactions sustaining a conceptual model of Mobile Moments. The identified linkage to user-centric design approaches as well as the concept's proposed integration into mobile consultancy's cookbooks further defines its relevance and impact. The research is a fundamental extension to existing user-oriented tools and practices by the means of Mobile Moments. It enhances the common awareness and, even more, it provides a structured model to extend the focus from existing to-be-mobilized problems to the currently unknown, but promising, mobile-only opportunities.
