Tourism, hospitality and events facilities
This chapter outlines what is meant by a tourism, hospitality and events (THE) facility and explores the different levels of facilities. This includes primary, sub and ancillary facilities. This categorization helps in understanding the relationship, management and development of THE facilities. This chapter also considers the scope and different types of THE facilities. This acknowledges that the scope of facilities management should encompass stakeholder groups and the breadth of THE facilities and attractions. A discussion of the characteristics of services and their influence on facility decision making is also provided.
