Using grain size distribution to estimate permeability
This study examines the saturated water permeability using samples of loose and dense 2-fraction coarse sand mixtures. Besides the non-normalised entropy variables some additional parameters like density, diameter descriptors are used to characterize the pore sizes. The density parameter has paramount importance. Two diameter variables (Cu and d10) and the non-normalised base entropy variables (ΔS and S0) are compared.
