Wide-Scan/High-Gain Phased Array Antenna for 5G/6G Cellular Networks
This paper explores the features of a novel beam-steerable phased array antenna design that exhibits high radiation capabilities, catering to the needs of future cellular networks such as 5G/6G. The focus of the discussion is on smartphones, given their compact size and complexity. The design process is straightforward and implemented on the mainboard of forthcoming smart handheld devices. It incorporates eight modified Yagi-dipole resonators arranged in a 1×8 linear configuration. These resonators are characterized by their small dimensions and employ microstrip-line feedings. The suggested phased array design achieves an impedance bandwidth of 28-31 GHz with-10 dB, offering over 80% total efficiencies and 12 dBi radiation gains. Keywords-Beam-steerable array, future wireless networks, smartphone applications, phased array antenna.
