  The project examines how new materials (specifically alternative building technologies - ABTs) can be
integrated into the supply chain to address conventional materials' limitations and enhance sustainable
housing provision. It also seeks to examine and improve the informal housing construction practices of urban
poor communities. With the demand for affordable housing increasing and a significant housing supply
backlog, it is important to find sustainable solutions that can reduce the housing backlog while still being
affordable.
