At the Scottish Government Claire is currently Head of Brand Scotland and Net Zero Marketing, at the Scottish Government. Brand Scotland brings together the collective communications efforts of the Scottish Government and key partners in building Scotland’s global nation brand and reputation. Claire also leads the Scottish Government’s Net Zero Marketing team, responsible for delivering national marketing activity to tackle climate change, as part of the ‘Let’s Do Net Zero’ brand and communications strategy. Prior to being at the Scottish Government, Claire spent 7 years leading award-winning behaviour change marketing campaigns for the Scottish Government across health, road safety and justice, and also has extensive agency experience having spent 5 years as Account Director at one of Scotland’s leading advertising agencies, the Union. Claire is also Chair of the Advisory Board for the Marketing Society Scotland, a member of the City Nation Place Advisory Board and recently appointed to the Marketing Advisory Board at the University of Strathclyde.

Gemma is the Co-Founder / Director of Can Marketing Save The Planet Ltd. She is co-host of the podcast series, Can Marketing Save the Planet?, a sustainable marketing consultant, 2x published author, Carbon Literate and guest lecturer. Her main focus is championing sustainable marketing and leadership, working with organisations and individuals across industries on strategies, and education and, training them in their role in driving a more sustainable future. Gemma also teaches sustainable marketing for CIM, Cambridge Judge Business School and the DMAnc in the USA.

Alan McGarrie is Head of Marketing for Diageo’s Scotland Brand Homes, joining the company in December 2019 and overseeing marketing and communications for their portfolio of 15 visitor experiences covering the length and breadth of Scotland. He is proud to be involved in the biggest ever investment in Scotch Whisky Tourism (£185m), having in recent years overseen the launch of Johnnie Walker Princes Street, and welcoming whisky fans old and new to explore reimagined experiences at the “Four Corner” brand homes (Glenkinchie, Clynelish, Cardhu and Caol Ila), as well as Singleton and Talisker. Alan is a Napier Alumni, and prior to joining Diageo, he accrued significant experience working with well-known international and domestic brands, most latterly Tennent’s where he held the position of Group Brand Director, and Adidas where he was PR & Social Media Director responsible for leading numerous global football campaigns including the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil. His work in marketing has seen him recognised as a Fellow of The Marketing Society Scotland and he has previously been a Board Member of the Marketing Society Scotland and also of The Scottish Licensed Trade Benevolent Society, the BEN.

This is a role that Christine has exceled in for over 25 years and through which she has become a trusted and well-respected voice in the industry. A fully qualified historian and Archivist who has worked in the profession for over 35 years in different sectors, Christine is driven by a desire to share true and authentic stories and to bring these to life using Archive content and insights. During her time at Diageo Christine has relocated the Archive to its current home in Menstrie, central Scotland and developed it into the industry leading Archive it is regarded as today, a crucial asset that is leveraged by the Diageo business around the world every day and, has played a pivotal role in the creation of our transformational visitor experiences in Scotland. Christine is a recognised expert in all things Johnnie Walker, Scotch and the industry in general, and is an esteemed Keeper of the Quaich. She is passionate about unlocking the power of storytelling and committed to building the Archive of the future and its role within brand experiences, brand building and corporate memory for Diageo.

Andy is the author of Business on a Mission: How to Build a Sustainable Brand, described by Paul Polman as “A timely reminder that the primary purpose of business has always been to serve a clear social need, brilliantly combined here with a well-illustrated roadmap of how we can get back to that essential objective.” He founded Salt, playing a leading role in the development of purpose-led brands in the early 2000’s, notably for Lifebuoy soap which led the way for other Unilever brands, and was described as “The Best Social Responsibility Program Ever" by David Aaker, Professor Emeritus at the Haas School of Business. salt was in the first cohort of UK companies accredited as a B-Corp in 2015 and pioneered the use of the ‘Swords and Shields’ model for sustainability communication, now widely used in brand marketing. He teaches a regular module in Conscientious Marketing at ESADE Business School and consults corporates and brands on their sustainability strategies and communications.

As the Global of Head of Couture at Vivienne Westwood Brigitte oversees the couture service and the bridal collections, as well as celebrity dressing. She is implementing Green Carpet projects and initiating, supporting and co-ordinating various commitments of the brand's sustainability strategy. She was one of the Co-founder of the Ethical Fashion Forum and contributor to DEFINE, the European fashion tech network. She is a member of the Medinge Group.
