You’ll set out your own vision and strategy for the school and provide the leadership to help us attract, retain and motivate the best possible academic staff, instilling the right behaviours and inspiring outstanding performance. You’ll look to drive the growth of our research, public engagement and enterprise and make sure this is matched by a suitably high profile.

Making a difference

The School of Health & Social Care provides a vibrant teaching and research environment for over 3,400 students and 130 staff. We are the largest School of Health & Social Care in Scotland, delivering a world-class learning experience and undertaking pioneering research.

We’re going to drive the health agenda, playing an influential role in everything from policy and workforce planning, to education, research and practice. By 2025, we will be the first centre of impact for health and social care in Scotland.

Our research staff’s expertise is well established within public health, education, leadership in compassionate care and enduring conditions and is growing within areas such as mental health, early years and maternal care.

The appointment panel will convene following this to decide upon a shortlist. Shortlisted candidates will subsequently be invited to first stage interviews on Friday 1st May 2020 and successful candidates will then be invited to final stage interviews on Thursday 21st May 2020.
