We connect professional know-how with academic theory to create unique courses that help our students succeed. Designed to develop your personal and professional skills of independent thinking, critical analysis and reflective learning.
Along with your learning you will be part of a community which will last beyond your year in Edinburgh, developing a network of friends around the globe.
A year isn’t a long time..
We organise events such as educational visits, suppers and walks to take in Craiglockhart campus’s stunning views. Getting you into the swing of Edinburgh student life, making friends and memories.
Take advantage of the opportunities we offer such as the Get on Board programme to get you a seat at the table of a public sector board or use the Bright Red Triangle’s facilities and advice to get your great business idea off the ground.
The support of the university helped me find the right course to set me on the path to my career goal.
Alex Porter-Smith, Producer, High Tide Media.
I started studying film and during this time set up my co-founded video production company. I found I wasn’t as interested in the technical side of film production, I realised I was drawn towards the organisational business side of things, which is why I changed programmes to BA Business and Enterprise, where I got to work on my business for my placement.
After completing the undergraduate programme, I went onto study MSc Business Management, where I further developed my understanding on management and strategy. The Business School gave me opportunities such as the Get on Board programme, which enabled me to pursue a board position for the national charity, Creative & Cultural Skills.
Bright Red Triangle have been a great support, as a business we are able to use free office space, have access to a wide network of entrepreneurs and free support and advice. I work with my business partner (who studies BA (Hons) TV) on our film production company with clients including Rettie & Co, Creative Scotland, Edinburgh Beer Factory and Hidden Door Arts Festival.
