One of the most powerful legacies of the Destination Leaders Programme is its highly engaged, active network of tourism professionals, which continues to build and diversify with each programme year.
The DLP experience doesn’t end on graduation: many DLP alumni from across the cohort years to date are now working together and collaborating on a diverse range of projects and activities across cities, destinations and sectors, including youth travel, women in tourism, destination partnerships and more. DLP alumni stay connected via a programme of regular events, e-communications and a private LinkedIn group.
There are now over 150 DLP alumni in Scotland who have graduated with an Executive Certificate in Destination Leadership awarded by Edinburgh Napier University.

The DLP Case Studies and video interviews offer an insight into the motivations of a cross-section of some of our alumni, from Years 1, 2 and 3: why they chose to do the programme, what they got out of it and the journey on which it has taken them.
Find out how DLP alumni experiences have helped shape the development of new tools and products for tourism, listen to alumni talking about the learning journey and group project work, and get top tips from some on how to get the best out of doing the programme.
