Mr Callum Egan

Senior Content Producer & Research Fellow

Biography

I've been a digital media professional for nearly 20 years.

I've led over 150 digital design projects for clients in the business, education and third sectors and for many years I ran a digital media consultancy business (which still operates on a needs basis).

From 2008-2016 I was engaged extensively with EU research networks via Future and Emerging Technologies (FP7) pro-active initiative coordination actions: FoCAS | Awareness | Pervasive Adaptation, all of which were scored 'excellent' by the EC.

Since July 2016 I've been working as Senior Web Content Producer for the Research and Innovation Office - working across the university to improve both the user-experience (UX) and visibility of research outputs.

In October 2016 I began researching, through the Centre for Interaction Design - the inter-play of Permaculture and Digital Technology. This has led to managing The Lions' Gate permaculture-inspired interactive gardens project at Merchiston campus.

I also manage the Robert Louis Stevenson Website, design the SIGEVOlution newsletter and advise across university, business and third sectors on digital media solutions.

In praxis my craft involves - creative direction, design thinking, media production and project management.
