When do I need to reply to my offer?

It’s important to read the instructions in your offer email carefully and take note of any deadlines. For example some of our courses have specific deadlines for accepting an offer. There are two types of offer you may receive:

Conditional
If your offer is conditional, we need further evidence that you meet the course requirements. In your offer letter we will detail the conditions and how to meet them.

Unconditional
If your offer is unconditional, this means you are ready to start your course. We still encourage you to read your offer letter carefully for any additional checks/requirements e.g PVG.

We recommend accepting as soon as you’re confident Napier is right for you. Securing your place early gives you more time to arrange funding, accommodation, and plan ahead towards actually starting your Masters.

What should I expect from my Masters?

A Masters at Edinburgh Napier is designed to push your abilities in various aspects such as critical thinking, developing expertise and preparing you for the next stage of your career. You’ll experience a mix of industry focused teaching, real world projects, independent research and opportunities to collaborate and network with peers and professionals. You should expect your Masters to be challenging but rewarding, because it is built with purpose to help you grow.

What funding is available to me?

Postgraduate students may have access to funding such as SAAS postgraduate loans, University scholarships, employer sponsorship, and other external support. What you’re eligible for depends on your residency status, course and study mode.

SAAS eligible students could receive a tuition fee loan of up to £7,000 for a full-time course to help pay fees and a Postgraduate living cost loan of up to £6,900 to help with living costs while studying. Check the SAAS website for full details.

Can I get student accommodation?

Postgraduate students are welcome to apply for university accommodation. There are limited spaces, and these will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.

Many postgraduate students choose to live in private rentals around Edinburgh. If you prefer flexibility or city living, this may be the right option for you. Our Accommodation Team can provide advice on finding accommodation in the private sector, get in touch with the team if you would like to know more.

Accommodation availability varies by intake, so check early.

How can I meet people?

Postgraduate life at Edinburgh Napier is friendly, collaborative and full of opportunities to connect. You can meet people through your course, group projects, networking events, postgraduate societies and clubs, and the wider university community. Many students also build strong networks through placements, industry events and city-wide activities.

You can also get involved in Welcome Week activities. This is a week dedicated to welcoming new students to the university. Don't be scared to participate and meet new people. Everyone there is in a similar position to you. Sometimes all it takes is an introduction.

With strong employability support and industry led teaching, we help you realise your ambition. 98% of our postgraduate students are in work or further study 15 months after graduation (HESA 2021/22).
