Marketing Professional Advisory Group (PAG) is a collaborative platform where academic staff and marketing leaders from various organisations come together to engage in conversations about marketing education, research, and knowledge sharing.

This network enables academics and professionals to exchange their expertise, offer advice and support, and contribute to the continuous growth and significance of the marketing field at Edinburgh Napier University. The PAG convenes twice annually to exchange ideas and discuss curriculum enhancement, employability, research, and knowledge exchange.

Alex graduated from Edinburgh Napier University in 2018 and has excelled in the EdTech and SaaS industry, specializing in international sales. He has gained valuable experience and insights with a focus on various markets such as China, APAC, the Middle East, and Europe. Currently, he is working for an Australian EdTech company, spearheading the expansion of our business in the European market. He is responsible for building relationships and fostering partnerships to drive growth. His diverse background and expertise in international sales have equipped him with a deep understanding of different markets to navigate various cultural and business environments effectively. He is passionate about leveraging technology to transform education and empower learners worldwide.

Ailsa Graham, Head of Marketing Planning, Execution and Media at Tesco Bank

 

Ailsa is an expert in marketing strategy, digital marketing and media.  She joined Tesco Bank in 2016 and has held various roles there including Performance marketing lead and Head of Digital marketing. Prior to her time at Tesco Bank, Ailsa was Head of International Marketing and PR at the Scottish Government, leading the development of content, social and influencer marketing  across the USA and China. Ailsa worked across a number of high profile initiatives including the 2014 Independence Referendum, 2014 Ryder Cup and Commonwealth Games.

David started his career with KLP Euro RSCG. Originally recruited on a temp contract to deliver the mail and run errands, he must have done something right as he was still there three years later. Thankfully by that stage he had graduated from the Mail Room to work on the Diageo Ireland Account, working largely on Guinness and Johnnie Walker (in more ways than one).In 2003, David moved to the embryonic Multiply, the agency he works for to this day. Multiply are an integrated creative agency HQed in Edinburgh, but are perhaps better known for their work south of the border. Now as Head of Business, David helps lead the Agency in their work on some of the UK’s favourite brands, including Johnson & Johnson, Whyte and Mackay, C&C Group, and Heinz to name but a few.

David is a graduate of Edinburgh Napier University where he was President of the Students’ Association (1999-00) and member of University Court (98-00). He’s also very proud of serving his full terms as a Chair of both Edinburgh Napier Students Association Trustee Board and NABs in Scotland.

Garland graduated with MSc in Marketing with Festival and Event Management from Edinburgh Napier University (Edinburgh campus) in 2016. Upon her graduation, Garland has been working in various aspects of the marketing industry such as SEA e-commerce, China Marketing, ad performance agency, and creative video production house. She served brands such as Vitasoy , ParknShop, AlipayHK, Taobao Double 11 campaign, Foodpanda HK, Stella Artois, Ocean Park Hong Kong etc. She is highly skilled in performance marketing, omnichannel, creative advertising and Project Management.

After spending the early years of his career in journalism, Gregor joined the youth charity Young Scot where he became Director of Communications. In 2013, he joined the Scottish Government, where he has had roles including Deputy Head of Marketing and Head of Marketing. He is currently working at Social Security Scotland as Head of Strategic Communications, Marketing and Engagement. His main areas of interest are social marketing and behavioural economics, and understanding how we can utilise marketing theory to improve people’s lives. He is passionate about supporting young people, acting as a student mentor for over 10 years and as a mentor for the Queen Margaret University Student Marketing Society. He was made a Fellow of the Marketing Society Scotland in 2021 for his contribution to the marketing sector in Scotland and in 2022, he was shortlisted for ‘Inspirational Marketing Leader of the Year’ at the MSS Star Awards.

Dr Jonas Wulff Møller currently serves as Partner and Co-chair at StoneVault Capital, a private equity and business consultancy firm with offices in Singapore, Switzerland and Denmark. Jonas also serves as chairman, board member and advisory board for various companies, including serving as a Business Commissioner with the global think tank Diplomatic Council. Prior to StoneVault, Jonas was an executive for brands like Bang & Olufsen, Georg Jensen, Trollbeads, Ro Collection, Orlo Watches and others, residing in Denmark, Bahrain, USA, Singapore and Switzerland. In 2006 Jonas founded Design Collection Denmark and grew it to become a €50M+ enterprise with offices in Europe, Asia and Australia. Jonas holds a Doctorate in Business Administration from Edinburgh Napier University, and an MBA from the University of Stirling (National Scholarship 2012).

Maddy is a Strategy Partner at Carat, with experience working on digital activation both here and in Australia. She started life as a PPC Manager, and often misses it as it gave her "a real appreciation for data". Maddy likes to think she brings that aspect to the fore in her current role as a Strategy Director sitting across offline and online channels – using insight, industry innovations and constant testing to get the most out of accounts

Long track record of working in the German automotive industry, most recently as Managing Director of the German Association of the Automotive Industry (VDA) among other things responsible for Marketing and Trade Shows. After studying business administration in Münster (Germany) and Edinburgh (Scotland), Martin Koers initially worked at the Institute of Marketing at the University of Muenster. After obtaining a doctorate, he was engaged as Visiting Assistant Professor at the University of Illinois (US), before switching to the Ford Motor Company, where he held posts including assistant to the Board, head of a distribution region, and Manager of Product Marketing at Ford of Europe‘s headquarters. From November 2007 he was Head of the Economic and Climate Protection Department in the German Association of the Automotive Industry (VDA), before becoming one of the VDA’s Managing Directors in February 2019.

Peter Fischer Brown is an international marketing and corporate strategist. He is a specialist in the telecommunications industry, having been a Director at France Telecom Orange specialising in the b2b market, in leadership, team and organisational development in fast-growth SMEs, and in the development of value propositions for the circular economy, in conjunction with the Netherlands-based innovation agency Innooboost.  Peter is Anglo-German and divides his time between the UK and Barcelona, where he is an academic collaborator at ESADE for courses in Branding and Marketing for Sustainability at both Bachelors and Masters level. Peter is a member of Medinge, the international marketing community which supports Brands with a Conscience, as well as a Fellow of Radix, the Think Tank for the Radical Centre of Contemporary Politics. He is passionate about sustainability and the contribution good marketing and communications can make in shifting corporate and consumer behaviour towards more sustainable solutions.

Rob Mathie, Founder of On the One

Rob set up On the One to help brands build trust by letting their actions speak louder than their words. The agency's work harnesses an ‘activist mindset’ to create an award-winning cultural strategy, PR and partnerships with purpose. On the One has worked with FMCG brands, global NGOs, underground radio stations, city councils, mainstream music artists and grassroots activists and secured front-page stories, transformed festival line-ups, created safer nightlife spaces and facilitated world-changing conversations. The agency's clients include Smirnoff, Superdrug, UN Women and the RFU where they look after PR for the England women's rugby team The Red Roses.

In her 10 years in the industry, Lyndsay has experience working on a range of clients from SAGA to Tesco, Expedia, William Grant & Sons, the BBC, Scottish Government and more. Having originally started her career in organic digital marketing, she has a keen interest in using marketing to deliver meaningful and measurable results for business and public sector alike.
