27th Annual University Forum for Human Resource Development (UFHRD) International Conference
Location: Craiglockhart Campus, Edinburgh Napier University, Scotland
Date: 9-11 June 2027
Conference Theme: HRD in an age of Artificial Intelligence, Social Change and Uncertainty
Artificial Intelligence is actively reshaping the landscape of Human Resource Development, prompting critical questions about learning, capability building, and the future of work. Within HRD, AI is not simply a technological innovation but a socio-technical force that influences how knowledge is created, how skills are developed, and how learning is personalised across organisational contexts. Yet, advances in AI are not occurring in isolation. Global uncertainty continues apace, marked by political unrest, weakening of global institutions and fragmented/polarised political opinion, requiring HRD professionals to help organisations navigate volatile and rapidly changing operating conditions.
Highlights include:
- An exciting, diverse and high-quality programme focused on three key research subthemes: (1) AI, Skills, and the Reconfiguration of HRD, (2) Ethics, Social Justice, and Responsibility in AI-Enabled organisations, (3) HRD in Conditions of Global Uncertainty and Instability.
- Invited keynote speakers from research and industry exploring latest HRD trends and debates
- Half-day doctoral workshop and meet-the-editor sessions offering publishing and career advice
- Wide variety of sessions of broad appeal to delegates of all career stages and interests
- A full social programme featuring a Scottish themed gala dinner including bagpipes and ceilidh dancing
The conference offers a chance to connect with peers, engage with keynote speakers, sponsors and contributors.
Further details including call for papers, stream chairs and registration information will be announced in due course.
We look forward to welcoming you to Edinburgh in June 2027.
