Biography
Baraq Ghaleb (PhD, MSc, BSc, FHEA, IEEE) is an associate professor within the Centre for Distributed Computing, Networks and Security at Edinburgh Napier University. He is currently involved in delivering and leading several modules for the Undergraduate (UG) and Postgraduate (PG) levels within the Cyber Security and Systems Engineering subject group. Dr. Ghaleb was awarded his PhD from Edinburgh Napier University in June 2019. He is an experienced researcher with more than 8 years of cutting-edge research around Cyber Security, Internet of Things, Blockchain and Machine Learning. His research interests revolve around investigating the security vulnerabilities of the Internet of Things standards and utilising the cutting-edge advancements in addressing such vulnerabilities. Dr. Ghaleb has been involved in several externally funded research projects as a Principal Investigator and Co-Investigator and with a total budget of around £ 435,000. He has co-authored and published more than 35 research papers, in prestigious peer-reviewed outlets. In addition, Dr. Ghaleb has been involved in supervising and mentoring research Master and PhD students since he accomplished his PhD thesis in 2019.
