The Vice Chancellor's Fellowships campaign will open in autumn 2017.

As part of our 2020 strategic vision, we will shortly be launching round two of our prestigious 5-year Vice Chancellor's Research Fellowships, aimed at postdoctoral researchers with an established research record and talent to be a future academic leader. We will be making two appointments per year for the next three years. 

We are looking for applications from ambitious individuals with a committed research vision.

Based in the heart of Scotland’s historic and culturally rich capital city, our Principal’s Research Fellows will have the opportunity and the support to become pioneers in their chosen field in a university with an exciting strategy, ambitious for its staff and students. The University is inviting applications for the appointment of two fellows across a range of disciplines spanning our six schools.

Contract period and salary

Our Principal's Research Fellowships will have an initial contract period of five years with opportunities for outstanding candidates to progress to Associate Professor.

Salary: £37,768 – £46,414. The University will also offer an attractive research support package.

A PhD with postdoctoral experience is a prerequisite for these positions.

Our Principal's Research Fellowships will have an initial contract period of five years with opportunities for outstanding candidates to progress to more senior roles within the University. 

Salary: £37768 – £46414, the University will also offer an attractive research support package.
