Entry requirements

Undergraduate

Students would be eligible to apply if they have gained the required scores in the Advanced Certificate of Secondary Education (ACSE)/Cambridge Overseas Higher School Certificate (COHSC)/East African Advanced Certificate of Education (EAACE).  The grades required are the same as GCE A Level requirements which can be found on our course pages.

Postgraduate

Students will be eligible to apply if they have gained a Bachelor degree with lower second class (2:2) or above.

English language

Students who are applying to an undergraduate programme are required to have completed the Secondary School Leaving Certificate (SSE) English or Certificate of Secondary Education (CSE) English with Grade C/Good or above within the last two years.    

Students applying to a postgraduate programme may not be required to take an English language test such as IELTS, as long as their degree was taught and examined in English and was awarded within 2 years of the course start date. Evidence that your degree was taught and examined in English may be required. 

Pathway programmes

Edinburgh Napier University International College (ENUIC) is an embedded on campus college for international students to start their studies at Edinburgh Napier University. It is located in the historic, city centre campus of Merchiston, with easy access to student accommodation.

Pathway programmes at ENUIC prepare students for their chosen future degree with academic and English language support. ENUIC offers students the option between International Stage One, International Stage Two, or an International Incorporated Masters.

 

Undergraduate

International Year One
English language requirement – IELTS 5.5 with no less than 5.5 in each component.

Academic requirement - Completion of COSC/EACE normally with 1-6 (in at least 5 subjects)*

International Year Two
English language requirement – IELTS 5.5 with no less than 5.5 in each component.

Academic requirement - Successful completion of Cambridge Overseas Higher School Certificate, (COHSC)/East African Advanced Certificate of Education (EAACE) OR 32-80 UCAS tariff points at ACSE level

Postgraduate

International Incorporated Masters
– One Term IELTS 6.0 overall with 5.5 minimum in all components
– Two Terms IELTS 5.5 overall with 5.5 minimum in all components

Academic requirement - Bachelor degree with third class or Advanced Diploma with at least 70% or diploma equivalent

*Applicants who do not meet the criteria will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
