Entry requirements
Undergraduate
If you are an international student already in the UK studying High School qualifications, foundation/pathway programmes or bachelors programmes you may be considered to transfer to Edinburgh Napier University.
Each case will be considered on an individual basis, you can contact us with copies of your qualification transcripts and we can advise if you would be eligible for our bachelors programmes.
Postgraduate
You will be eligible to apply if they have gained a Bachelor (Honours) degree from a recognised UK institution with a 2:2 or above.
If you are studying Pre-Masters courses at another UK institution, contact us with copies of your qualification transcript and we can advise if you would be eligible to progress to our Masters programmes.
English language
For those who have already studied for a qualification in the UK it is likely you will not be required to sit an English language test. In some circumstances, we may require an English test, you can find the full list of requirements on our English language requirements page.
We offer various pre-sessional English language programmes for applicants who have test results below the programme requirement. Some courses may require a higher English language score. Please search for the course you're interested in to find out more.
Pathway programmes
Edinburgh Napier University International College (ENUIC) is an embedded on campus college for international students to start their studies at Edinburgh Napier University. It is located in the historic, city centre campus of Merchiston, with easy access to student accommodation.
Pathway programmes at ENUIC prepare students for their chosen future degree with academic and English language support. ENUIC offers students the option between International Stage One, International Stage Two, or an International Incorporated Masters.
Undergraduate
International Year One
English language requirement – IELTS 5.5 with no less than 5.5 in each component.
Academic requirement -
5 GCSE/IGCSE at grades A*-E or Two GCE A levels (grades E) or Three GCE AS levels (grades D-E)
IB - International Baccalaureate: 20 points
International Year Two
English language requirement – IELTS 5.5 with no less than 5.5 in each component.
Academic requirement -
Two GCE A levels (grades A *– D) or Three GCE A Levels (Grades D - E)
IB - International Baccalaureate: 20 points
Foundation: Successful completion of a UK foundation from a recognised institution
Postgraduate
International Incorporated Masters
– One Term IELTS 6.0 overall with 5.5 minimum in all components
– Two Terms IELTS 5.5 overall with 5.5 minimum in all components
Academic requirement - Bachelor Degree (Third Class Honours)
