In 2005 Scotland was voted a “Global Superstar” by the International Bicycling Association (IMBA) for its outstanding mountain biking. As yet, Scotland is the only country in the world to have a national mountain biking strategy, with mountain biking estimated to be worth over £150 million pounds to the Scottish Economy.
In this lecture Geraint will outline the innovative role that academia is playing in helping to build on this figure and explore the potential opportunity for more general societal impact in growing the mountain biking economy.
