The School of Health & Social Care is a vibrant academic community for over 3,400 students and 120 staff. We are structured into four subject disciplines: Nursing, Midwifery, Allied Health Professions & Social Work, and Health & Social Care Sciences.
We are one of the largest providers of midwifery and nursing education in Scotland and we have an international reputation for excellence in these disciplines. We also have a range of postgraduate programmes, including our highly innovative, integrated pre-registration postgraduate programme for Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists and Social Workers. Through our interprofessional education delivery, students have experience of learning together to work together, across and within professional groups.
Our education and research strategies are synergistic; one informs the other. Research in our School is multi-disciplinary, and our work aims to make a positive, real-world impact on health and social care practice for local, national, and international communities. Areas of research excellence in the School include cardiovascular health, mental health, maternal health, public health, and health and social services research.
